FUN DAY FOR JERSEY SHORE CAR
ENTHUSIASTS
A fun day was had by
all, despite cool weather and over cast skies the faithful
came to the Bodymotion/Jersey Shore PCA's Spring
Cruise Day. In spite of three inches of rain that fell the
day before hundreds of car crazies turned out. Some to display
their rides and some to see all the cars and trucks on
display. Every thing from antique stock cars to sleek euro
sports cars. Event sponsors were all pleased with the turn
out and the terrific response. West Long Branch Porsche
dealer Schneider + Nelson helped to bring this event to
reality. General Manager Gary Tucker and his staff had a
contingent of new and broken in Porsches on display "
what a great crowd of enthusiast's!" he exclaimed
while being broadcast over the Jersey Shores
"Hawk" radio station. In keeping with the local
theme the Jersey Shore Porsche Club provided the
volunteers who helped organize, setup and run the event, a
job all would agree, very well done. Also in attendance
was west coast wheel guru: Mr. Jim Fikse, owner and
founder of Fikse Wheel Company. This high end/racing wheel
manufacturer from Seattle, Washington, came all the way
for this event to show off his newest wheel creations.
Don Fauerbach, Steve
Stander, Jay Lopez and the staff from New Jersey
Motorsports Park were in attendance in force. They came up
from Millville N.J., site of the state's new Thunderbolt
Raceway. This world class facility will host professional
road races starting this July. That's right! 2008. The
construction is on going and these fine folks joined our
party with videos and photos showing the progress of the
facility and what the future holds. This family oriented
park of almost 800 acres will feature country club
memberships, family style entertainment including a go
cart and atv track. Fellow car crazies from Sander
Performance provided technical information and
demonstrated the latest in sport suspensions from Bilstein
and sport wheels from the world of BBS.
Food, oh!, the food!, and
plenty of it was provided by the Downtown Market of Point
Pleasant, there was never a shortage and everyone enjoyed
the quality eats cooked on site. Frank and Brett did a
great job, so when in the area visit their deli, if you
thought that was good, you ain't seen nothin' yet!
Promotional goods were given
to attendees thru a huge prize wheel. The prizes were
gathered and organized by Roberta Rider and Angela
Fisher. Hundreds of gifts were given out, and were
provided by the fine folks and car enthusiasts at: CDOC,
Tire Rack, World Pac, Schneider + Nelson, New Jersey
Motorsports Park, and Bodymotion
