Mathias
Warga lives in Jersey City, is 34 years old and single.
He has been a BMW Club member since July 1998.
He purchased his first BMW, a 1997 2.8 Z3, in March.
When January of 1999 rolled in, Mathias decided he was ready to step-up
the performance levels of his Roadster a few notches.
Bodymotion installed a Dinan Cold Air Performance Intake System,
eliminating the restrictive factory airbox ($725.00 installed).
Stainless steel exhaust replaces the factory cat back system ($895.00
installed). Dinan OBD-2 computer
tuning was downloaded to the ECU to compliment the vehicles new “breathing”
ability ($475.00 installed). With horsepower and torque characteristics improved 10-15%
Bodymotion’s next step was to get the power to the pavement.
A 8 X 17” AC Schnitzer/Bridgestone Potenza S-02 wheel and tire
combination package was installed, 235/45/17 up front and 255/40/17 in the rear
($3,500.00 installed). To keep the
rubber planted to the ground a Dinan spring set was installed ($825.00).
Lowering the center gravity, firmly improving handling characteristics +
20% and giving the car a more aggressive aesthetic presence.
Remaining body roll was taken care of with sway bars front and rear,
giving this vehicle the “slot car” feel Mathias was looking for ($570.00
installed).
To
quote Mathias’ reflection of Bodymotion’s work, “It feels as if a lot more
work has been done on the vehicle when experiencing the power increase”.
